We are currently looking for an Underwriter to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters. As an Underwriter with Equity United, you will be responsible for the following:
1. Receive and review loan applications and associated documentation to insure thoroughness and accuracy and follow prescribed guidelines. Rework loans to new terms or identifies additional conditions as needed. Verify loan-to-value ratios, completeness of application information and credit reports.
2. Analyze credit reports and associated documentation, analyze appraisals, accurately calculate debt ratio, qualifiy and classify loans according to Company guidelines.
3. Approve, decline and/or recommend loans within established credit guidelines and approval authority limits.
4. Maintain acceptable turnaround times for applications submitted for pre-approval and on funding packages submitted for purchase.
5.Contact brokers, if needed, for additional information when required to finalize incomplete loan packages.
6. Maintain working knowledge of products, services and regulatory requirements, lending environment, regional variances, standard loan calculations and credit policies. Review current procedures and guidelines and recommend new processes as needed.
7. Interact with Quality Control, Compliance, processing and Funding for problem resolution, risk evaluation and compliance concerns, as needed.
Qualified applicants will possess the following:
1. A Certified Underwriter’s License.
2. One year minimum experience in conforming underwriting such as LP, DU, and any other related programs. Minimum of three years in mortgage lending industry (including tax return and financial statement analysis, loan processing/funding). Thorough knowledge of consumer lending regulatory requirements; familiarity with interpreting and analyzing tax returns, real estate appraisals, title reports, credit bureaus and loan applications.
3. Above average skills in the following areas: planning, organizing, problem solving, and communicating (written/oral).
Corporate recruiter
As a corporate recruiter we will expect you to find the top mortgage industry candidates out there. Once you have done that I you are responsible to interview them and weed out only the best. You will also be responsible for making sure all employee benefits are correct.
Compliance attorney
As a compliance attorney we expect you to go through every file to make sure we stayed in compliance on every file in every state we are licensed. You also will be responsible for writing legal letters and other business legal problems. |
